power Solutions for negros 01- wind diesel power plants

Wind Diesel power plants are now operating around the world

with the threat of rising demand of power shortage here in negros its time for us "madlang people" to rethink our current power generating capabilities, pnoc's palinpinon plants and their production wells cannot cope with the region's rising economic demand, so is  their NNGPF plant in murcia, ceneco just have to admit the power being supplied to them cannot already cope with the demand for power generation, so better one of the best solution, is to accommodate another  power producing facility to our province and here is one of the latest technology in alternative power systems which can benefit in our large natural resource by tapping into our wind power, meet the wind-diesel power plant.

Wind-Diesel as its name implies is a hybrid power generation system that utilizes both Wind turbines and Diesel engines (may it be fueled by either Heavy fuel or Bio fuel ) and has the capability to share the load on both sources of energy,  it is mostly a wind farm and a diesel power facility rolled into one,

The successful integration of wind energy with diesel generating sets relies on complex controls to ensure correct sharing of intermittent wind energy and controllable diesel generation to meet the demand of the usually variable load.

The common measure of performance for wind diesel systems is Wind Penetration which is the ratio between Wind Power and Total Power delivered, e.g. 60% wind penetration implies that 60% of the system power comes from the wind. Wind Penetration figures can be either peak or long term. depending on the site, wind penetrations are one of the key factor in this systems, better installations are near shores and open plains where wind velocity is in good condition.

Technical solutions to the varying wind output include controlling wind output using variable speed Wind Turbines.

Diesel Generator Sets that are coupled with the wind turbine system can be in the form of containerized diesel gensets such this hyundai himsen H21/32 containerized gensets.

The extremely high efficiency of diesel engines also ensures the maximum possible yield from the fuel used. This – according to the plans – will be switched over within the next three years entirely to bio-fuel, which is to be obtained from seaweed. The wind-diesel hybrid power plant will then sustainably provide the entire island with CO2-neutral electricity and thus save around 70,000 tonnes of the greenhouse gas a year compared to the current power plant, which runs on fossil fuels.

The wind-diesel hybrid power plant is not funded by the state, but instead is being built exclusively on the basis of economic considerations. The result is a very environmentally friendly and autonomous supply of energy to the consumer that is also cheaper than before

Wind Diesel Hybrid have a nominal output of 80 kW and 250 kW. A diesel or LPG generator with equal or larger capacity connected to the wind turbine will provide the “grid power” and will act as
a back-up in case there is insufficient wind to
produce the needed electricity. The make or model
of the diesel generator is not important. The wind
turbine powers the diesel generator when there is
sufficient wind, thus maximizing your diesel or LPG fuel
savings.

A large share of the world’s electricity is produced by
diesel generators for those locations where a grid
connection is not possible or not economically viable.
For many years the indudstry has sought for the best
combination of wind and diesel energy. WES came up
with the solution; a unique patent pending off-grid
Hybrid Wind/Diesel wind turbine system that guarantees
a stable power generation of 80kW or 250kW.

Wind Diesel Power Stations can be stationed or built in places here in negros where there is a large amount of wind and its velocity is powerful enough  to drive even a 20 megawatt turbine, combined with diesel engines, it can ensure more available power for Negros's growing power needs, wind-diesel plants can be stationed in municipalities near coastal areas such as in:
Hinoba-an

Cauayan

Sagay
Increasing the number of this wind-diesel plants by small numbers one at a time in many places around the island and combining their outputs into the local grid will really help ease out our power shortage.

well I don't know if ceneco can read out this article, but better yet I recommend them to look at this article as one of the potent solutions to our power crisis in the region.
